Housekeeping Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeping and Laundry Aid to join our team at Arboreta Healthcare. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and coordinate daily housekeeping services with other departments.
• Clean and maintain resident rooms, offices, and common areas, including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, polishing, and straightening items.
• Strip, wax, and buff floors as directed, and move and replace furniture as needed.
• Sort, clean, wash, dry, and fold linen according to proper facility procedures.
• Prepare linen carts with appropriate amounts of linen for nursing personnel and handle linen services for other departments as required.
• Follow all sanitation and infection control procedures, and interface with other facility departments personnel regarding linen delivery services.
• Assist or prepare laundry personnel schedules, report equipment problems to the Supervisor, and sort and separate old worn linen.
• Complete monthly linen inventories and notify the Supervisor of replacement linen needs, and prepare special linen packets and monitor linen on the floor for quality.

• Must possess a 10th grade education or equivalent.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing dietary practices.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
