We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Katmai. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for all surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care and that all surgical procedures are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Conduct preoperative and postoperative visits with patients to assess their needs and provide education on their care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
- Coordinate with other hospital units, including recovery room, intensive care, and nursing units, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Supervise and educate nursing personnel in the operating room, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate and complete records and reports, including patient charts and surgical logs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve patient care and safety.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in operating room assignments.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make rapid decisions in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
