An LTAC RN (Long-Term Acute Care registered nurse) plays a crucial role in delivering nursing care and support to patients requiring prolonged hospitalization due to intricate medical issues.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Monitoring patients' health status and administering necessary medications and treatments.
- Ensuring optimal care is provided throughout the patient's hospital stay.
- Assessing individual health conditions and developing tailored care plans.
- Regularly checking vital signs and medical conditions, including heart rate, blood pressure, and fluid levels.
- Conducting diagnostic tests and interpreting results to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Offering education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment strategies.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintaining detailed documentation of patients' medical histories and progress.
The ideal candidate should possess a valid nursing license and have experience in acute or critical care environments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
This is a contracted travel position, not full-time. TLC Nursing Job ID # The compensation package is based on 8-hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
