The Need:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate resident care specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work in a collaborative team environment, providing therapeutic interventions to individuals struggling with behavioural health challenges. As a resident care specialist, you will have the opportunity to help clients overcome barriers, provide solution-focused interventions, and make a meaningful impact by saving lives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, secure, and structured living environment
- Act as a non-clinical resource for clients, providing crisis intervention, active listening, and answering non-clinical questions
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client activity and behaviour
- Perform facilities maintenance and report issues to Supervisor
- Assist with administrative tasks, including client chart reviews, answering phones, greeting guests, copying, and filing
- Transport clients to offsite meetings and activities, as needed
- Participate in monthly individual supervision and required training programs
- Facilitate required groups and structured activities
- Participate in shift changeovers, including verbal reports and key handovers
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years old, high school graduate or equivalent
- Ensure client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to policies and procedures
- Embody the centre's mission, vision, and values, and support a positive, pro-social environment
