Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer plays a crucial role in a dynamic orthopedic practice, embodying the core values of patient-focused care, musculoskeletal expertise, and teamwork. This position serves as a vital link among patients, physicians, physical therapists, and clinical support personnel. Key responsibilities encompass managing the daily operations of a physician's practice, delivering exceptional care to patients, and educating them on injury prevention and health awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure outstanding patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients to clarify their treatment plans.
- Foster positive relationships with physician teams.
- Actively participate in the patient care team.
- Coordinate clinical schedules as directed.
- Document physician notes as necessary.
- Assist in patient evaluations and treatments.
- Order diagnostic tests as per physician's guidance.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals regarding patient conditions and treatment protocols.
- Design rehabilitation and treatment plans in alignment with physician recommendations.
- Refer patients for necessary diagnostic and follow-up procedures.
- Complete daily documentation and maintain patient electronic health records.
- Manage inventory and supplies as instructed.
- Recognize, evaluate, and rehabilitate athletic injuries for patients of all ages.
- Respond promptly to patient inquiries.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure.
- Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Athletic Training Program.
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Eligibility for Illinois Athletic Trainer Licensure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to lift over 25 pounds.
- Understanding of proper body mechanics.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Proficiency in computer use for extended durations.
