Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer plays a crucial role in a dynamic orthopedic practice, embodying the core values of patient-focused care, musculoskeletal expertise, and teamwork. This position serves as a vital link among patients, physicians, physical therapists, and clinical support personnel. Key responsibilities encompass managing the daily operations of a physician's practice, delivering exceptional care to patients, and educating them on injury prevention and health awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure outstanding patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to clarify their treatment plans.
  • Foster positive relationships with physician teams.
  • Actively participate in the patient care team.
  • Coordinate clinical schedules as directed.
  • Document physician notes as necessary.
  • Assist in patient evaluations and treatments.
  • Order diagnostic tests as per physician's guidance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals regarding patient conditions and treatment protocols.
  • Design rehabilitation and treatment plans in alignment with physician recommendations.
  • Refer patients for necessary diagnostic and follow-up procedures.
  • Complete daily documentation and maintain patient electronic health records.
  • Manage inventory and supplies as instructed.
  • Recognize, evaluate, and rehabilitate athletic injuries for patients of all ages.
  • Respond promptly to patient inquiries.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain licensure.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Athletic Training Program.
  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • Eligibility for Illinois Athletic Trainer Licensure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to lift over 25 pounds.
  • Understanding of proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in computer use for extended durations.
