Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Eligibility Specialist to join our team at Firstsource Solutions USA, LLC. As a Medical Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying patients who are eligible for state, county, and federal assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs, either bedside or in the Emergency Room Department.
  • Provide information and reports to client contacts, keeping them current on our progress.
  • Review hospital census or utilize established referral methods to identify self-pay patients consistently throughout the day.
  • Document the results of the screening in the onsite tracking tool and hospital computer system.
  • Face-to-face screen patients on site as able, and attempt to reach patients by telephone if unable to screen face-to-face.
  • Perform outside field work as required, including patient home visits to screen for eligibility of state, county, and federal programs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years' experience in medical coding, medical billing, eligibility (hospital or government), or other pertinent medical experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
Working Conditions

Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods of time. Medical screenings and vaccinations are required for this position. Working on holidays or odd hours may be required at times.
