Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Cavender's is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of our retail facility and supervising store associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Cavender's Culture: Drive our Mission, Vision, and Values by embodying our company culture and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Assist in Store Management: Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, including supervising store associates, managing inventory, and maintaining store appearance.
  • Act as Store Manager in Absence: Know necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in their absence, on a short-time basis.
  • Assist in Training and Development: Assist in the training of new store associates and provide coaching and feedback to improve performance.
  • Maintain Store Reports: Assist in the preparation of store reports, including sales, inventory, and employee performance.
  • Ensure Safety and Security: Maintain an awareness of safety/security issues and report any accidents or incidents occurring during the Store Manager's absence to the Store Manager promptly.
  • Implement Company Policies: Understand and implement company policies and procedures, including those related to sales, customer service, and employee conduct.
  • Drive Sales and Profit: Assist in the effort to increase sales, maintain profit structure, and reduce controllable expenses.
  • Perform Daily Tasks: Open and close store as directed, assist in performing daily check-ups, and make bank deposits.
  • Maintain Store Image: Assist in the maintenance of interior/exterior store image and appearance, including staff appearance.
  • Manage Records and Files: Assist in the maintenance of all records and files, including timecards, payroll, and inventory.
  • Address Personnel and Customer Issues: Assist in the resolution of personnel/customer problems and complaints.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information and write reports.
  • Language Skills: Associate must be able to read English and understand English.
  • Attention to Detail: Associate must be able to stay alert during work hours assigned.
