About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiac Stepdown Unit at Spartanburg Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients who require specialized care for cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to determine patient priorities and treatments
- Initiate and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes
- Seek necessary assistance in completing nursing interventions to ensure positive patient outcomes
- Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift report
- Provide clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff
- Successfully complete hospital and unit-based orientation programs
- Formulate a plan for professional growth
- Ensure compliance with all clinical expectations regarding regulatory requirements
- Identify appropriate standards of care and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care
- Comply with established policies and procedures
- Identify the need to develop or revise policies and procedures pertaining to specialized patient populations and/or unit and hospital-based practices
- Serve on unit-based committees
- Prioritize nursing interventions for an assigned group of patients
- Assess assigned patients' medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders, obtaining nursing history, performing physical assessment, evaluating diagnostic data, and interviewing patient and family to determine patient needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory
- Assure continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care
- Document all aspects of patient care by following established charting procedure to show the patient's progress or any change in the patient's condition
