We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Services Floor Tech to join our team at Excelsior Springs Hospital. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine and restorative floor care and maintenance throughout the facility, including hard surfaces and carpeting.
- Environmental Cleaning: Perform basic environmental cleaning functions throughout the facilities when necessary, including room discharge cleaning, surgery terminal cleaning, and UV disinfecting.
- Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to all organizational safety, risk management, and infection control standards while promoting a culture of safety.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and perform routine maintenance on floor equipment, requesting assistance from plant operations and maintenance as needed.
- Operational Efficiency: Operate all equipment with care and according to facility and manufacturers' safety standards and procedures.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete the appropriate paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
- Performance Improvement: Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives.
- Special Projects: Perform project work and specialty tasks according to facility needs, including conference room setup/dismantle, cleaning of stairwells and elevators, and hanging of cubicle curtains.
- Waste Management: Remove waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste stream.
- Infection Prevention: Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper use of personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Confidentiality: Recognize and adhere to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
- Training and Development: Support training of team members as assigned.
- Previous Experience: Previous floor care experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: After initial training period, must be able to demonstrate proper use of chemicals, supplies, and equipment assigned and floor care maintenance techniques.
