About the Position

We are seeking a Part Time Ultrasound Technician to join our team at Oncology Consultants. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care and performing a variety of technical procedures under the direction of a radiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic procedures requiring understanding of anatomical positioning
  • Select correct technical factors on an individual basis and produce high-quality images
  • Limit and refrain from personal conversations and/or phone calls that can be overheard by patients
  • Verify referring physician's orders/diagnosis, verify patient identification, obtain history, document allergies, explain examination, obtain all appropriate signed consents, and prepare patient for the procedure
  • Explain and document any instructions needed for follow-up of exam
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment related to the exam
  • Practice sterile technique, preventing cross contamination
  • Assist radiologist with biopsies as scheduled
  • Assist with ACR accreditation
  • Report any allergies reaction or injuries to the radiologist immediately and maintain adequate records on patients as needed or directed
  • Perform examination appropriate to protocol
  • Prepare appropriate paperwork
  • Maintain accurate records required by all governing bodies

Requirements:

  • ARRT (or eligible within 6 months), and/or RDMS or eligible within 6 months
  • State license, if applicable
  • Maintains active status of position and license/certification by continued education requirements as set forth by the policies and procedures
  • 5 years or more prior ultrasound experience preferred
  • CPR Certified
  • Excellent Organizational skill

Oncology Consultants is a drug-free workplace. Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
