The Receiving Coordinator / Lead Steward role is essential for managing all incoming shipments, including food, beverages, and various supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of all shipments to the appropriate departmental representatives.
- Verify, count, and sign for deliveries, ensuring accuracy with packing slips and invoices while participating in inventory assessments.
- Communicate any discrepancies in invoices to the purchasing management team.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in receiving areas and storage facilities, ensuring proper rotation of food deliveries to uphold freshness.
- Manage inventory levels effectively to enhance profitability by reducing dead stock.
- Label, date, store, and rotate all food and beverage items to prevent spoilage and minimize waste, while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Organize storage areas for equipment, china, glassware, and silverware.
- Oversee the receipt and organization of all equipment and CGS deliveries, ensuring correct storage practices.
- Lead and mentor the Stewarding team in all departmental functions, ensuring compliance with sanitation and cleaning standards.
- Supervise the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and designated areas.
- Maintain familiarity with MSDS documentation and chemical labels.
- Train Kitchen Stewards on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure the kitchen team has access to all necessary dishes and silverware, guaranteeing cleanliness for guest service.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in a receiving role within the food and beverage sector.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow directions and accept feedback.
- Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
- Open availability, including weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
- Significant portions of the workday involve walking and standing.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Occasional requirement to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Requires various physical activities including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, and auditory and visual acuity.
