Optical Professional

We are seeking a skilled Optical Professional to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As an Optical Professional, you will be responsible for dispensing spectacles and other optical products to both adults and children, working with prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists.

Job Description

This role involves advising and assisting patients with various types of lenses and spectacle frames, including style, weight, and color. You will also be responsible for verifying order data entry, comparing Rx to original Rx provided from the doctor, and ensuring all information entered in the system is accurate.

You will deliver sales by providing excellent member service in person and over the phone, explaining procedures included under the exam fee, and maintaining a friendly pleasant demeanor with customers at all times. Additionally, you will take measurements, assure correct frame selection for Rx power, read prescriptions on the lensometer, and notify product readiness and advancement of the order in the system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Must be licensed to work as an optician within the State and keep license up to date and active
• Knowledge of optical products and business practices preferred
• High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, and/or optical experience is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required
