Financial Credit Assessment Analyst

Position Overview
The Credit Risk Analysis Specialist plays a vital role in collaboration with the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) by gathering, assessing, and entering critical data elements necessary for supporting the Bank's projections of anticipated credit losses and its concentration management initiatives. This role includes conducting stress tests and generating various trend and portfolio segment reports to comply with both internal and external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the CCO to gain a comprehensive understanding of the Bank's CECL model components and the necessary data input requirements.
- Leverage the Bank's modeling and reporting systems to identify and document risk characteristics of the Bank's loan portfolio at the segment level, which includes risk ratings, asset classifications, collateral types, sizes, geographical distributions, industries, and loan vintages.
- Evaluate and interpret loan portfolio data to provide essential insights to the CCO and management, supporting reporting and policy recommendations.
- Prepare monthly credit dashboard data to deliver consistent and timely information to the CCO in alignment with the Bank's CECL, Concentration, and Special Assets reporting needs.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of the loan portfolio to ensure timely financial statement and Call Report submissions.
- Implement the Bank's appraisal policy regarding minimum collateral valuation standards when assessing individually analyzed loans and in relation to the Bank's Commercial Real Estate (CRE) concentration program.
- Efficiently perform standard reporting tasks, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness while minimizing errors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a financial or commercial lending environment, showcasing expertise in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation for informed business decisions.
- Basic knowledge of CECL is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, capable of prioritizing tasks in a multitasking environment and meeting deadlines.
- Proficient mathematical skills, capable of collecting, measuring, and statistically analyzing data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel applications.
