Key Responsibilities- Assist with Repairs and Maintenance
Assist senior mechanics with minor and major truck and trailer repairs, including oil changes, tire and brake checks, and other routine maintenance tasks.
Support Diagnostic EffortsCollaborate with operators and managers to diagnose problems with equipment and plan repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
Inspect and Maintain EquipmentInspect tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Record Keeping and Inventory ManagementAccurately record each repair performed on equipment and maintain an up-to-date inventory of parts and supplies.
Requirements- Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience or vocational training in diesel mechanics is a plus, but not necessary.
Technical SkillsA basic understanding of diesel engine components and mechanical systems is essential. Excellent mechanical skills and proficiency in using power and hand tools are also required.
Communication and TeamworkStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to read and interpret service and repair manuals, are necessary. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly is also essential.
