Job DescriptionIn this role as a Rheumatologist at LUKE, you will provide medical examination, care, and treatment to Military Treatment Facility (MTF) patients. You will also be responsible for providing medical care and treatment of communicable diseases and/or injuries. Furthermore, you will conserve the health of patients by applying diversified knowledge of preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic medical and surgical procedures. When necessary, you will seek advice from consultants and instruct and monitor other medical personnel in patient care and treatment. Your duties will also include initiating requests for tests, x-rays, and admissions to the MTF, as well as following up on abnormal reports. Additionally, you will prescribe medications, as appropriate, in accordance with privileges and MTF rules and regulations.
Requirements- Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Experience: Required to demonstrate clinical competency within the past two years in the required clinical discipline as specified in this PWS.
- Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required.
- Board Certification: Board certified/board eligible in Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
This position requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you must be able to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. You should be flexible and able to work with various personalities, demonstrating strong teamwork and time management skills. It is essential to meet deadlines in a deadline-intensive environment while maintaining a high level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change.
