Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to join our team at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving clinical performance improvement, promoting clinical appropriateness, and reducing unwarranted clinical variation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and reduce costs
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote clinical appropriateness and reduce unwarranted clinical variation
  • Collaborate with hospitalists and other clinical leaders to ensure coordinated oversight and quality care
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
  • Provide leadership and supervision for operating units as assigned
Requirements
  • Board certification in specialty required at time of hire, preferred ongoing recertification
  • 5 years of clinical practice experience required, 5 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable of contemporary practice issues within medicine and outcomes measurement of clinical quality and utilization
  • Familiar with all aspects of hospital operations
