Job Summary:

The Field Service Technician position at Astrophysics Inc. involves performing on-site installation, preventative, and corrective maintenance for our products at various customer sites across the United States. This role requires the ability to travel extensively, with a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain our products at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions, returning defective parts as needed.
  • Complete all necessary service documentation, including reports, radiation surveys, and expense reports, in a timely and error-free manner.
  • Input and maintain data in our service databases, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review customer and machine information prior to each visit, preparing necessary equipment and documentation in advance.
  • Update customers and Astrophysics service headquarters on service call progress and status.
  • Deliver customer packages, including warranty information and reports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and promote the sale of extended warranty service contracts and repeat x-ray purchases.
  • Offer operator and technical training as required.
  • Provide technical phone support and support custom product installations/upgrades as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or a related field, or 2-7 years of technical support or field service experience.
  • Experience providing technical and field service support, x-ray system knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work independently.
  • Team player with excellent customer service skills and a professional appearance.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.
