Overview:
We are seeking a skilled vehicle maintenance technician to carry out routine preventative upkeep on our fleet of ambulances and passenger vehicles. Our fleet primarily consists of gasoline-powered vehicles, including Ford E-series and Ram Promasters. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of both mechanical and electronic vehicle systems, along with exceptional problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes and brake services.
- Perform tire mounting and replacement.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities, including fluid replacements and lubrication of components.
- Diagnose and repair or replace malfunctioning parts and address issues such as leaks.
- Maintain detailed logs of work performed and issues encountered.
- Inspect vehicle engines and mechanical/electrical systems to accurately identify problems.
- Examine vehicle computer and electronic systems for repair, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are kept in optimal condition, with specialty tools provided by the company.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required; vocational school certification or completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
- Proficient understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems and methodologies.
- Ability to utilize various tools (e.g., pliers) and heavy machinery (e.g., lifts).
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols to protect against accidents and hazardous materials.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle components.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Capability to foster a positive and cooperative work environment, even in high-pressure situations.
- Willingness to work during irregular hours and for extended periods, including outdoor work in challenging weather conditions.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
Compensation:
Pay rate will be determined based on a combination of experience and certifications. Prior experience with ambulances is advantageous.
