Medical Director/Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as our Medical Director at Children's Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for psychiatric oversight and supporting outpatient clinical operations, contributing to the overall vision and program development of the agency.

Responsibilities
  • Perform psychopharmacological evaluations of clients for medication services.
  • Provide non-face-to-face services, including phone contact with physicians, pharmacies, clients, and/or parents/guardians.
  • Review, prescribe, and monitor medication of clients.
  • Provide dictation/documentation of all client-related contacts.
  • Provide program consultation and development, helping to create new programs to support the mental health of our children and youth in the community.
  • Work with the Executive Director to foster a partnership with a psychiatry fellowship program, increasing access to care for our clients.
  • Provide case consultation and training as requested.
  • Coordinate, educate, and collaborate with local primary care providers and pediatricians.
  • Participate in agency's Quality Management process, as needed.
  • Provide after-hours phone availability on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide consultation to clinicians regarding diagnostic impressions and psychopharmacological recommendations.
  • Prepare and maintain clinical case records and all required documentation according to clinic guidelines.
  • Ensure Agency Confidentiality and Professional Code of Ethics policies are followed.
  • Maintain all billing and client documentation as required by Medicaid, insurances, etc., including prior authorizations when needed.
  • Adhere to state and federal licensing requirements and maintain appropriate CEU's for licensing.
Qualifications
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Three to five years direct practice with juvenile/young adult population preferred.
