Job Overview

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is on the lookout for dedicated individuals to join our team as part-time Aquatic Safety Officers. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment for all pool visitors. We welcome certified lifeguards as well as skilled swimmers eager to pursue lifeguard certification. This position offers a starting wage of $14 per hour and requires availability during daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all members and program participants.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Current certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid are mandatory.
  • Certification from either the American Red Cross or Ellis Lifeguard is required.
  • Oxygen Administration (O2) certification is preferred but not essential.
  • The YMCA is committed to training candidates who meet the basic swimming criteria if they are not already certified.
