Summary: The Wound Care Physician Assistant will engage in specialized wound management procedures and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals within the healthcare setting.

The role is pivotal in ensuring optimal patient care delivery in wound management while adhering to regulatory compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Duties encompass, but are not limited to:
- Assessing and managing all patients requiring wound care services in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

- Collaborating with wound care nursing staff, surgical specialists, and additional support personnel to coordinate comprehensive care.

- Responding to consultations, evaluating relevant medical and surgical conditions that may impact wound healing, and facilitating care coordination with both internal and external healthcare providers.

- Supervising medication administration to patients and ordering necessary diagnostic evaluations. Participating in departmental meetings and maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with established guidelines.

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering student loan repayment assistance to qualified candidates.


Work Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Applicants selected for VA employment in designated testing positions must undergo drug screening prior to appointment.

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is required for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Compliance with the COVID-19 vaccination program is also a requirement for all Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel (HCP).


Qualifications:
Candidates awaiting completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all qualifications are satisfied.

Basic requirements include a Master's degree in any discipline or a Bachelor's degree with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, successful completion of the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE), and possession of a full and unrestricted license to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction.


Preferred Experience:
Certification in Wound Care is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:
The role involves light lifting and carrying, prolonged standing and walking, and the ability to engage in rapid mental and physical coordination.

Environmental Factors:
The position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and requires the ability to work collaboratively with others as well as independently.
