Position Overview:

KAEKO is currently in search of a Construction Quality Assurance Inspector. The Construction Quality Assurance Inspector will be tasked with daily on-site monitoring and evaluation of construction activities carried out by contractors. This role includes conducting punch list inspections, reviewing technical drawings and specifications, and preparing comprehensive daily inspection reports for municipal inspectors. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting daily on-site assessments and inspections of contractor work, performing punch list evaluations, and reviewing technical documents to prepare detailed inspection reports.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality assurance standards and monitoring compliance with building codes, providing detailed reports when compliance issues arise.
  • Identifying deviations from KAEKO's construction documents and documenting these in daily reports, collaborating with the KAEKO Engineering team to assess the acceptability of deviations and determine if new engineering documentation is necessary.
  • Reviewing submittals and requests for information alongside the KAEKO Engineering Team to propose technical solutions.
  • Participating in site construction meetings as required.
  • Collaborating with KAEKO clients to establish and present weekly construction plans to municipal inspectors, attending all relevant meetings.
  • Coordinating special inspection requirements with municipal inspectors.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction inspections, particularly in Piping and/or Electrical fields.
  • Completion of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) 30-hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Approval as a Special Inspector by the City of Phoenix.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; bilingual skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to walk significant distances daily.
  • Capability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Experience working on ladders and scaffolding, with familiarity in safety harnessing.
  • Knowledge of piping systems, welding protocols/standards, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfortable using laptops and/or tablets.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
  • Experience with Bluebeam software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of applicable international and local building codes and standards.
  • Able to interpret process flow diagrams, one-line diagrams, P&IDs (piping & instrumentation diagrams), schematics, and layouts.
