Position Overview: Culinary SpecialistWe are looking for an enthusiastic culinary professional to join our food service team. This position offers a unique chance to enhance the guest experience by creating memorable culinary moments across all our venues, including Jellystone ParkTM, Bear Paw Adventure Park, The Ember Lodge, and Christmas Carnival of Lights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meal components and simple dishes under the supervision of senior culinary staff.
- Ensure the timely preparation of food orders to uphold exceptional quality and service standards.
Supervisory Duties:
- Oversee a small team of up to four kitchen staff members.
Key Duties:
- Follow instructions from the Food and Beverage Manager regarding meal preparation.
- Handle fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning, and prepare food items for service.
- Efficiently operate cooking equipment to prepare food orders according to specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in food preparation areas, cooking equipment, and utensils.
- Comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
- Clean and maintain cooking stations, properly store leftover products, and assist with kitchen closing procedures.
- Help in unloading, inspecting, and storing raw ingredients and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basic sanitation and workplace safety regulations.
- Understanding of food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively within a team.
- Efficient and quick worker with a strong focus on personal hygiene.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of high school or vocational coursework in culinary basics preferred.
- Prior relevant experience is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work in a kitchen for extended periods.
- Exposure to various temperatures in a kitchen environment.
- Able to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to work weekends during peak seasons.
- Manual dexterity for food preparation tasks.
