We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Access Dubuque. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct a team of professional drivers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
- Build strong relationships with drivers, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
- Dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver loads to customers and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Monitor driver movement and load status, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Collaborate with our maintenance department to schedule repairs and services, ensuring our fleet is well-maintained and running smoothly.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Provide strategic planning to support our company's growth and expansion.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Manage time-off requests for drivers, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing disruptions.
- Embody our company's core values of Safety, Service, Positive Attitude, and Respect.
Requirements:
- General knowledge of the trucking industry and commercial motor vehicles.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a positive and can-do attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on problem-solving and collaboration.
Compensation: $45k - $55k annually.
