Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in the Neuro Trauma ICU. This position requires a skilled nurse who can effectively coordinate and direct nursing care, while also serving as a resource person for staff and modeling a commitment to the organization's vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
