Role OverviewAs a Senior Radiation Therapist, you will work under the guidance of the Chief and Lead Radiation Therapists, demonstrating proficiency in various treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set up and administer daily radiotherapy sessions.
Your role will involve effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments.
- Exhibit professional conduct in all interactions.
- Foster teamwork and efficient resource utilization to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Operate treatment and planning equipment, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
- Prepare and administer prescribed doses, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on imaging and treatment equipment.
- Position and immobilize patients according to treatment plans, evaluating images per standard guidelines.
- Monitor patients' physical and emotional responses to treatment, referring them for appropriate management as necessary.
- Collaborate with the care team, including physicians, nurses, and medical staff.
- Participate in the clinical instruction and evaluation of Radiation Therapy students.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent with a certificate or associate degree in Radiation Therapy.
- A valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Therapy.
- ARRT certification within six months of hire.
- Valid BLS certification.
- For Senior Therapist roles, a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
