Job Summary:
Ambulatory Care Registered Nurses play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinic setting. As a Travel Nurse Ambulatory Care, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of patient-centered services as directed by San Ysidro Health policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Uphold San Ysidro Health's Policies and Procedures, Core Values and competencies and applicable state, federal and local laws.
• Perform assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and cognitive status; also nutrition, pain, patient/family education, family involvement and patient advocacy.
• Document pertinent patient information, nursing procedures and patient responses in patients' medical record, following established SYH guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Establish patient care priorities based on essential patient needs and availability of unit resources (time, personnel, equipment, and supplies).
• Identify patient/family learning needs and act to meet them.
• Demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights, age specific needs, cultural and ethical beliefs.
• Provide/coordinate care for patients/patient populations.
• Establish effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
• Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties/activities of health care team members.
• Evaluates effectiveness of care given by team members.
• Implements patient care functions including but not limited to: sterile wound dressing/packing, urine catheter insertion/removal, suture and staple removal.
• Utilizes effective communication methods and skills, following lines of authority as appropriate.
• Handles clinic use medication inventories and orders and replenishes medical supplies, medications, and materials throughout the day as needed. Maintains clinic inventory logs.
• Prepares and administers medications per SYH standing orders and as directed by physician orders, in accordance to SYH policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by San Ysidro Health.
• Leads efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
• Autoclave: oversight of process to ensure the cleaning, processing, sterilizing and checking of instruments is in compliance to meet audit and infection control requirements.
• Immunization coordination: oversight of clinic's daily routine workflow, excursion reporting process and emergency vaccine management plan.
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional practice.
• Participates regularly in staff development trainings and activities for clinic to support continuous quality improvement.
• Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
• Participates in unit and department Performance and Quality Improvement activities.
• Participates in nursing research activities as requested.
• Provides data for staffing decisions and demonstrates flexibility in the resolution of staffing issues; demonstrates flexibility when floating to other units upon requests.
• Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities in documenting, tracking and conveying information.
• If practicing in a specialty/extended role, fulfills the expectations established for the particular role.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
Customer Service/ Patient-Centered Care
Practices customer service standards as defined by SYH and specified clinic.
Anticipates the customer's needs, takes proactive steps to meet those needs, by listening and taking responsibility within scope to ensure issues are resolved.
Promptly responds to patient requests.

Basic Qualifications:
• Experience: Preferred: six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Education
• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN)
Pay Package:
Talent Healthcare Staffing Inc Job ID #OSYH0001483. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
