Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at PeaceHealth's Cardiac Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Arrange and inventory sterile set-ups for operations and pass items as needed to the surgical team.
  • Understand and apply the principles of asepsis, maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring the team adheres to these principles.
  • Assist in patient preparation and movement, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instrumentation, and assist with clean-up and room turnover.
  • Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
  • Participate in all safety initiatives, adhering to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist in a full-service operating room.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
  • Surgical Technician certification in Washington state.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent lifting, bending, and standing, as well as the ability to move around the operating room with occasional sitting. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
