Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Banquet Operations Coordinator to join our team at the Westin Poinsett Greenville.

About the Role

This is a full-time / part-time position responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet spaces to facilitate events and functions. The successful candidate will have previous experience in event setup, banquet services, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Setup and Breakdown
    • Set up tables, chairs, staging, and other furniture as specified in the event order.
    • Arrange table linens, glassware, silverware, and other table settings according to the banquet specifications.
    • Ensure all audio/visual equipment and lighting are properly positioned and functional.
    • Break down furniture and equipment after events, cleaning and storing items properly.
  • Maintenance of Banquet Areas
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, ensuring spaces are free of clutter and ready for upcoming events.
    • Perform regular cleaning duties, such as vacuuming, mopping, and dusting.
    • Address and report any maintenance or repair needs in a timely manner.
  • Customer Service and Support
    • Assist event organizers and guests with specific requests throughout the event, such as adjusting seating arrangements or setting up additional equipment.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to any event-related issues or changes as they arise.
    • Work collaboratively with the banquet service team to ensure the event runs smoothly.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Follow all safety guidelines when lifting, moving, and arranging heavy furniture.
    • Adhere to health and safety standards to create a safe environment for guests and staff.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Inventory and Supplies Management
    • Track inventory of banquet supplies, linens, and equipment.
    • Report low supplies and assist in restocking items as needed.
    • Maintain proper storage of all furniture, decor, and banquet supplies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience: Previous experience in event setup, banquet services, or a related field is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow event setup diagrams and ensure precision in setup and breakdown.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Salary Range:

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
