Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic scans for optimal patient care.
  • Evaluate and verify image quality according to PHHS standards to ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Review and interpret intermediate/complex exams with attending physicians to determine additional procedures.
  • Determine equipment needs for complex examinations to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
  • Identify and distinguish appropriate modalities of cardiac ultrasound, including motion mode, Doppler, two-dimensional, and color flow.
  • Maintain and perform intermediate troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment, informing supervisors as needed to ensure maximum availability.
  • Inspect, clean, and prepare exam rooms after each patient to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Complete, log, and distribute billing reports to appropriate individuals to ensure accuracy of patient charges.
  • Participate in research studies regarding intermediate sonographic procedures with other medical staff to improve information sharing.
  • Provide clinical instructions for new physicians and fellows in the area regarding sonographic practices and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Sonography by attending seminars and workshops, reading professional journals, and maintaining certification.
Requirements
  • At least 1+ years of experience in Sonography, including OBGYN.
  • Travel experience preferred.
  • OBGYN discipline required; Fetal Echo certification strongly preferred.
  • MUST have MFM, high-risk OBGYN, and pre-natal experience.
  • ALL certifications must be active.
