Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at American Civil Constructors. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and fueling various types of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on assigned equipment as per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Fuel equipment as needed and perform daily services to ensure production work is not impeded.
  • Inspect equipment during daily services and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager.
  • Take oil samples at designated intervals and submit them for analysis.
  • Maintain records of daily services, hour meter readings, and equipment condition.
  • Perform minor repairs as directed by the Equipment Manager.
  • Provide own hand tools to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Observe all shop safety practices and report any injuries or occupationally related illnesses.
  • Report probable cases of operator negligence or abuse to the Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure a sufficient stock level of fluids and filters required to service assigned equipment.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of pneumatics and pneumatic systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of brake systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of drive train systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge of proper equipment maintenance and repair.
