Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for patients and families, promoting leisure activities and skills development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients' health needs and current level of functioning.
  • Plan and implement therapeutic programs for individuals and groups, collaborating with the mental health team.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of individual interventions and activity therapy programming.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field.
  • One year of experience working with patients in a psychiatric inpatient or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stressful situations and potentially infectious materials. The successful candidate must be able to wear personal protective equipment and move freely about the facility.
