About the Role

Houston Community College is seeking a highly qualified Music Instructor to join our team. As a Music Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical talents of our students and contributing to the institution's proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life, and community service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach music courses at the college level, including music theory, history, and performance.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the institution's academic goals and standards.
  • Mentor and advise students on their musical development and career aspirations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in music education.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Music required.
  • PhD, DMA, or Master's degree in Music is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated outstanding professional competency and experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of college-level teaching experience or three (3) to ten (10) years of related work experience required.
