We are seeking an experienced Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our team at Ignis Global Recruitment, a dynamic and international firm specializing in fire safety code consulting and engineering. Our company offers innovative solutions for fire protection and life safety across a wide range of sectors, including mass timber construction, commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use developments, and high-rise buildings.
Job Summary:
This role provides the opportunity to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, and drive business development initiatives across offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, or Seattle. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for leading engineering analyses and design work for fire safety and compliance, developing performance-based and prescriptive fire protection strategies, and reviewing technical documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Oversee engineering analyses and design work for fire safety and compliance.
- Develop performance-based and prescriptive fire protection strategies and review technical documents.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, providing regular feedback and guidance.
Business Development:
- Cultivate Client Relationships:
- Maintain and grow client relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage project scope, cost, and timelines.
- Attend marketing meetings and identify new opportunities to expand the client base.
Project Management:
- Project Oversight:
- Oversee small to large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to safety standards and client objectives.
- Utilize advanced modeling tools (e.g., FDS, Pathfinder) and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and client satisfaction.
Organizational Development:
- Staff Development:
- Contribute to the development of engineering standards and staff training programs.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives to enhance business performance.
- Represent the company at industry events and cultivate professional networks.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Fire Safety/Protection Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in fire protection engineering consulting.
- Licensure: A PE license is strongly preferred, particularly in California, Oregon, or Washington state, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Skills: Proficiency in fire safety design principles, modeling software, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Salary Range: $130,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications + performance bonus + sign-on bonus
