The Intelligence Programs Group, part of Systems Planning and Analysis Inc.'s Space and Intelligence Division, specializes in systems engineering and advisory services for the Space and National Intelligence sectors. We employ mission-proven, data-driven advisory tools and capabilities. Our technical support ensures the government secures state-of-the-art technology essential for National Defense. Our portfolio includes significant entities such as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). Become a part of our elite team.

SPA has an immediate need for a Telecommunications Systems Architect. The ideal candidate will have experience within the NGA, NSG/ASG, and/or previous work experience in Intelligence Community or Department of Defense programs/projects.

Responsibilities

Expert Telecommunications Engineers are responsible for planning and developing communication solutions that involve computer and telecommunications equipment. They assess network alternatives and formulate recommendations for enhancements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, designing, testing, and evaluating network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet, intranet, satellite, and other data communication systems.
  • Conducting network modeling, analysis, and strategic planning.
  • Supervising the work of Senior, Mid, and Junior-level contractor Telecommunications Engineers.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with CI poly at time of application
  • 18+ years of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field, or equivalent expert-level work experience as a Telecommunications Systems Architect.
  • Expert-level experience in cloud-based systems architecture.
  • Certification in network technology, specifically TCP/IP, with a comprehensive understanding of the following:o Roles of devices in TCP/IP networks o Details of IP, ARP, TCP, ICMP, and UDP o Functions of FTP, HTTP, Telnet, and other TCP/IP applications o Use of Voice over IP (VoIP), email messaging, and multicasting o Troubleshooting TCP/IP issues across network layers

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification in one or more areas of network technology, including:o Configuring TCP/IP on server systems o Managing and troubleshooting DNS and DHCP o Installing and configuring network and software infrastructure o Configuring and managing device routing and remote access o Monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure
  • Completion of a specialized wireless network course and/or certification
