Georgia IT, Inc. is seeking an experienced Data Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure. This includes aligning with the systems engineering team to propose and deploy new hardware and software environments required for Hadoop and to expand existing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining Hadoop clusters
- Collaborate with data delivery teams to set up new Hadoop users
- Perform performance tuning of Hadoop clusters and MapReduce routines
- Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Hadoop Administration
- Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Ruby or Python and Shell Scripting (TCL)
- Excellent understanding of Linux Administration and Architecture
- Experience with Hadoop Hortonworks upgrade
Bonus Skills
- General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system's capacity, bottlenecks, basics of memory, CPU, OS, storage, and networks
- Knowledge of HBase, Hive, Pig, Mahout, etc.
