Key Responsibilities


  • \t
  • Develop validation strategies and execute test plans around new software features by collaborating with developers, designers, and product managers.
    \t
  • Be a champion for software quality and collaborate with QA team members to improve testing processes.
    \t
  • Help with regression testing, whether that be manual or automated.
    \t
  • Develop deep expertise in the team\u2019s projects and systems in order to play a central role in risk assessment and prioritization decisions.
    \t
  • Investigate and troubleshoot customer issues while ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the process.
    \


Requirements


  • \t
  • Proven skills in hands-on testing and finding ways to break products.
    \t
  • 5+ years experience with software testing in at least one of the following areas - Linux/Ubuntu servers, API/automation software, rich user interfaces, or device software.
    \t
  • Expertise in developing test plans and test cases, assessing risk, and filing bugs.
    \t
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    \t
  • Effective program management skills to be able to follow through on issues and track progress across multiple teams.
    \t
  • Experience debugging and deep-diving into issues.
    \t
  • An incredibly methodical and detail-oriented mindset.
    \


Bonus Experience


  • \t
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
    \t
  • 2+ years experience in hardware testing.
    \t
  • Automation and scripting experience (we use Python).
    \t
  • Experience with a logging analytics platform (we use Splunk).
    \t
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
    \


Compensation

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining salary. The compensation bracket for this position is $132,800 - $199,200 per year. Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role.
