Bilingual Nutritionist

Greater Lynn Senior Services (GLSS) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Nutritionist to join our team at the Phoenix Food Hub (PFH). As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in addressing food insecurity and insufficiency challenges in the Lynn area.

Job Summary:

The Bilingual Nutritionist will work closely with consumers to assess and counsel on how food choices, meal preparation, and eating patterns promote overall health. Using a "food as medicine" approach, you will provide culturally competent tools, techniques, and supports for access to nutritious foods, meal planning, and preparation. Additionally, you will make appropriate referrals to other PFH programs, such as teaching kitchen classes, Farmer's Market, and home-delivered meals.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and utilize all of Phoenix's resources to educate consumers on proper nutrition information.
• Capture relevant data and document encounters in the PFH database system.
• Provide nutrition workshops as needed and requested.
• Participate in relevant trainings around food and mental health and incorporate materials into counseling approaches.
• Know and reference PFH and other area nutrition resources.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Registered Dietitian with a license.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience working with individuals of all ages and living with various disabilities as a Dietitian.
• Must be organized, able to multitask, work within a team in a fast-paced environment, and be self-directed.
• Community Health experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certified or ability to get certified.
• The ability to handle confidential and personal information appropriately.
• Proficient in the use of computer systems, including Windows-based software applications.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Bilingual Spanish required.

Work Environment:

Hours: 8-10 hours per week.
