Medical Specimen Collector

The Medical Specimen Collector serves as a liaison between the hospital laboratory and the patient by collecting blood specimens, urine and other specimens from both inpatients and outpatients, under general supervision, according to prescribed aseptic technique, for use in clinical and diagnostic laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities:- Appropriate specimen collection, handling and delivery of specimen to main laboratory.
- Performs incidental clerical, cleaning and supply duties.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Phlebotomy certification program.
- Must pass national certification with 1 year of hire.
