Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist First Assistant to join our team at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures, providing expert support and ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order and meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of surgical protocols and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with the latest medical evidence and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical technology and techniques, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes and enhance the surgical experience.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in Surgical Technology and First Assistant certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
