Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing a full range of mental health outpatient services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health interviews, screenings, and evaluations to determine appropriate mental health services and treatment plans.
  • Provide supportive mental health services, including brief individual counseling, group counseling, and specialty group counseling.
  • Provide case management services to ensure continuity of ongoing service delivery.
  • Prepare all related mental health documentation in a clear, thorough, and timely manner.
  • Consult with Security, Medical, Classification, and other departments as needed.
  • Respond to psychological emergencies and provide crisis intervention.
  • Conduct post-release planning and communicate with community-based mental health facilities for referral and continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health-related field, such as Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work.
  • State licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Professional, or Mental Health Counselor.
  • One year of experience providing mental health services in an institutional setting is preferred.
  • Ability to work in crisis situations in a professional and mature manner.
  • Strong counseling and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Above-average verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
