Responsibilities- Deliver High-Quality Dental Care: Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and root planing, polishing, radiographs, and fluoride treatment in our state-of-the-art dental office equipped with modern technologies.
- Diagnose and Treat Periodontal Disease: Conduct initial debridement and supragingival calculus removal to diagnose periodontal disease and create treatment plans.
- Administer Local Anesthetics: Administer local anesthetics for patients with moderate to severe periodontal disease.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Assist Dentists: Assist dentists in patient examinations, head and neck exams, and oral cancer screenings.
- Screen and Create Treatment Plans: Screen and create initial treatment plans for new patients.
- Participate in Training and Supervision: Participate in training and supervision of dental interns.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulations.
- Collaborate with Medical Clinic Staff: Collaborate with medical clinic staff to integrate dental care with overall patient care.
- Stay Current with Industry Practices: Stay current on industry practices, procedures, and materials.
- Oversee Hygiene Operatory: Oversee stocking and maintenance of the hygiene operatory, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain Patient Records: Maintain patient records, update medical and dental histories, and enter treatment plans.
- Coordinate Hygiene Schedule: Help coordinate hygiene schedule, and participate in remotely supervised clinics.
- Assist in Clinic Operations: Assist in organizing on-site volunteer opportunities, and promote community engagement.
- Develop and Implement Policies: Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for efficient clinic operations.
- Represent the Clinic: Participate in and represent the clinic at CE events such as the Oral Health Summit.
- Licensure: Licensed Registered Dental Hygienist graduated from an accredited program.
- Experience: Two years of dental hygiene experience (Preferred).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to Community Health: Commitment to providing compassionate care to underserved populations.
