Job Summary

The Salvation Army Midland Division Madison County Corps is seeking a skilled Community Center Program Aide to coordinate and monitor community programs. This part-time position requires 25 hours of work per week and involves overseeing children, members, and visitors during activities, enforcing rules, and assisting in developing games and sports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee children, members, and visitors during activities in the community center.
  • Enforce rules as necessary.
  • Assist in developing games and monitor games and sports for children, leagues, rentals, and other recreational opportunities.
  • Mediate disputes among participants, being sensitive to the needs of all parties.
  • Tutor children on their homework.
  • Clean gymnasium and work and play areas before and after activities.
  • Assist in planning community center special events.
  • Maintain and organize all gymnasium supplies and equipment.
  • Train members and visitors in the care and use of games and equipment.
  • Record and submit daily statistical reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with Salvation Army Safe From Harm guidelines.

Qualifications

Previous work experience with youth activities and community centers is desirable. Strong communication skills are essential. Ability to read and write well, relate well with youth and children, and hold a valid driver's license is required. Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid is a plus.
