Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Description:

At ASCENDING, we are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team of technologists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale, innovative projects on the AWS platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Kibana dashboards to highlight changes to account configurations and security anomalies.
  • Ensure adherence to DevOps practices and tool-sets to support our drive towards continuous delivery across our multi-platform application portfolio.
  • Collaborate with customers to build reference architectures that enable teams to adopt out-of-region disaster recovery.
  • Design and develop tools and products used in central automation and contribute to development milestones.
  • Continuously look for ways to innovate and improve testing processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Effectively communicate DevOps activities and project risks in oral and written formats.
  • Build solutions and think holistically about engineering challenges and architecture.
  • Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithm design, problem-solving, complexity analysis, and data structures.
  • Expert experience in designing and implementing infrastructure creation/configuration and CI/CD.
  • Evangelize DevOps tools and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in architecting, designing, and developing.
  • DevOps toolsets and good troubleshooting and debugging mindset.
  • Awareness and exposure in deploying Deep Learning models and Big Data applications.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the areas/tools listed below.
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration and experience with automation/configuration management.
  • Grafana (creating dashboards from multiple data sources, creating dashboards, presenting metrics in custom charts).
  • Splunk.
  • Strong experience in scripting, such as Python and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on AWS platform experience, AWS Certification will be a big plus.
  • Ability to use a variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required). Some services like AWS Config, CloudTrail, SCPs, KMS, VPC, CDK.
  • Working knowledge of continuous integration platforms, such as Jenkins, and various other deployment tools.
  • Working knowledge of source code repositories, such as Git (BitBucket), Subversion, etc.
