Position Overview:

The Operations Coordinator is essential in facilitating the daily functions of their designated location by ensuring effective communication with drivers, contractors, customers, and team members to guarantee the successful delivery and collection of parcels and packages. A successful candidate will utilize strong communication abilities to provide exceptional service through both telephonic and in-person interactions. This role reports directly to the on-shift Depot Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide drivers with updated route sheets for their scheduled deliveries.
  • Assist management in the timely dispatch of drivers and monitor their performance metrics.
  • Coordinate pickups with the appropriate route drivers.
  • Conduct regular business relationship meetings.
  • Foster positive relationships with drivers, management, and other team members.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of service areas to assist drivers in locating delivery destinations.
  • Respond promptly to dispatch requests and urgent situations.
  • Maintain and organize essential files and records.
  • Stay informed about routes and locations to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Provide clerical support, including typing, data compilation, report preparation, and communication.
  • Assist in dispatching and clerical tasks as required by the department.

The Operations Coordinator will work collaboratively with teams and management to ensure all operational documentation, permits, and licenses are properly maintained. Responsibilities also include monitoring email correspondence, compiling reports and spreadsheets, assisting in various departmental functions, supporting training and onboarding processes, and maintaining workflow within the department. Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently lift between 26-50 lbs.
  • Frequently lift over 51 lbs.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be capable of performing all essential duties competently, following instructions, maintaining a positive demeanor, collaborating effectively with colleagues and supervisors, and lifting up to 75 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be considered for individuals with disabilities.
