Job Title: Authorized Inspector

Orion Talent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Authorized Inspector to join our team. As an Authorized Inspector, you will be responsible for performing inspections of boilers and pressure vessels to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Job Summary:

The Authorized Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections of new construction, repair, alteration, and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels. This will include performing inspections to ensure compliance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections III, and National Board Code, including referenced construction codes and standards of our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of boilers and pressure vessels to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform new construction, repair, alteration, and jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels.
  • Ensure compliance with the ASME Code, National Board Code, and referenced construction codes and standards of our clients.
  • Collaborate with other inspectors and engineers to ensure accurate and thorough inspections.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and equivalent (Military) work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of boiler and/or high-pressure steam & water system maintenance/operation experience.
  • 4+ years of mechanical experience with Boilers and Pressure Vessels in a power plant-Nuke or conventional.
  • MM/BT, or an SRO and/or a Steam PPWO/EOOW 3+ years.
  • Navy Nuke EM or ET with a minimum of 3yrs qualified SRO experience.
  • Quality Assurance inspections of mechanical equipment, water, and steam systems.
  • Boiler and/or steam system maintenance and operation.
  • Inspections on mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
  • NBIC Boiler Inspector Qualification a plus.
  • Insurance inspection service experience involving risk-based inspections and analysis.
Computer Skills:
  • Microsoft Office and web-based applications, Lotus Notes.
Requirements:
  • Clean driving record and must be able to pass a background check.
