Key Responsibilities

The Culinary Service Associate I will execute assigned tasks within the department, providing exceptional customer service while operating and maintaining dietary food equipment. Through regular interactions with patients, medical staff, and visitors, you will deliver efficient, courteous, and precise service. Your duties will include:
  • Engaging in various customer service, food preparation, and sanitation tasks, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Maintaining outstanding communication with patients, customers, and colleagues, promptly responding to inquiries and concerns as noted by supervisory feedback.
  • Evaluating customer needs and delivering appropriate products, as indicated by periodic surveys and feedback.
  • Monitoring food temperatures during service and taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Adhering to personal hygiene standards, including proper uniform attire as observed by supervisors.
  • Completing daily washing and sanitizing tasks consistently, with any deviations reported to supervisors.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean workspace at all times, based on supervisory observations.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with departmental requirements.
  • Executing all assigned cleaning tasks, both daily and monthly, as verified by supervisors.
  • Participating in equipment maintenance and supply management.
  • Utilizing equipment responsibly and efficiently, as monitored by supervisors.
  • Training new staff on proper workflows as directed by supervisors.
  • Cleaning and stocking the work area before the end of each shift, as confirmed by supervisory oversight.
  • Managing food and paper waste effectively, ensuring resource efficiency.
  • Checking and maintaining stock levels on assigned floors and call rooms, as observed by supervisors and nursing staff.
  • Delivering excellent customer service consistently.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and courtesy when interacting with patients, medical staff, and visitors, with any exceptions reported to management.
  • Greeting each patient and customer warmly and helpfully.
  • Addressing customer complaints with a focus on resolution.
  • Respecting co-workers and valuing diverse work styles and perspectives.
  • Actively participating in Relationship-Based Care and departmental councils.
Qualifications

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in food service preferred.
Skills:
  • Effective communication

  • Proficient computer skills
  • Attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
  • Medium Work - Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
  • Occasional activities include balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, and lifting.
  • Frequent tasks involve typing, talking, and visual monitoring.
  • Constant walking is required.
Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to occasional noise, wet and humid environments, and various odors.
Travel:
  • Occasional travel may be required, but not on a regular basis.

Compensation

Salary is determined based on various factors, including qualifications, experience, education, and industry standards. The stated compensation range reflects a good faith estimate by Bassett Healthcare Network at the time of this posting.

Pay Range Minimum:

USD $16.12/Hr.
Pay Range Maximum:

USD $17.16/Hr.
