Compensation:

Starting Salary for Certified Educators: $58,000

Starting Salary for Non-Certified Educators: $55,500

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Duties:

  1. Engage in dyslexia screening and assessment initiatives.
  2. Deliver the designated dyslexia curriculum with fidelity.
  3. Provide structured literacy instruction utilizing evidence-based practices.
  4. Participate in meetings related to 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs.
  5. Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  6. Utilize critical components of dyslexia instruction as outlined in educational resources.

Classroom Management:

  1. Create a safe and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  2. Uphold classroom discipline in accordance with the established code of conduct.
  3. Implement Behavior Intervention Plans effectively.
  4. Maintain accurate records in compliance with educational policies.

Compliance and Professionalism:

  1. Adhere to federal and state educational regulations and policies.
  2. Ensure confidentiality of student information.
  3. Maintain necessary professional certifications and licenses.
  4. Collaborate with all stakeholders to support student success.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.

Preferred certifications include Texas Elementary, Special Education, or Reading Certification.

Credentialing as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP), Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), or Licensed Dyslexia Therapist is preferred.

Willingness to complete CALP and/or CALT training if not already credentialed is required.

Skills:

Knowledge of the reading process, dyslexia intervention strategies, and relevant educational legislation is essential.

Experience:

A minimum of one year of successful teaching experience is preferred.

Mental and Physical Demands:

Position may require prolonged sitting, occasional bending, and light lifting. The environment may involve occasional travel.
