About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in the rehabilitation journey of our patients, providing specialized care and treatment to help them recover from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments to identify areas of need and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Provide care in accordance with physician's orders and established plans of care, assessing the effectiveness of treatment and modifying treatment as needed.
  • Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare teams to achieve rehabilitation goals and promote maximum benefits of care.
  • Participate in performance improvement and program development activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Contribute to budgetary planning and cost-effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's and master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Communicative Disorders, or a similarly titled area consistent with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or be eligible to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR card.
