Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Trades Maintenance Helper to join our team at Pima County, AZ. As a Trades Maintenance Helper, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, equipment, and their parts in direct support of a process, system, facility, or grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Trades Maintenance classified employees and others in the performance of their duties.
  • Perform operator-level inspections, servicing, and maintenance of assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Perform non-skilled replacement, repair, or adjustment of facility or system components.
  • Prepare and clean areas or equipment undergoing repair, painting, maintenance, construction, or other related activity.
  • Maintain security and accountability for all tools, equipment, and materials required in the performance of duties, particularly in a medical, detention, or correctional setting.
  • Maintain and use safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping services to maintain safe, clean, and orderly conditions in the workplace.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certification.
  • Six months of experience performing helper-level duties in construction or roadway maintenance.
  • Relevant training or education may be substituted for the aforementioned experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Minimum six (6) months experience in construction.
  2. Experience with/knowledge of roadway maintenance.
  3. Experience with/knowledge of OSHA safety practices.
  4. Experience with/knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
